ZGA hosting the inaugural Golf Awards Tonight
THE Zimbabwe Golf Association (ZGA) is today hosting its Inaugural Awards Banquet at Chapman Golf Club to recognise the achievements of various individuals and stakeholders in the sport.
Boniface Chigorimbo, the ZGA first vice-president of the association, said that the awards, are being preceded by a fundraising tournament being played this afternoon at the same venue.
The awards are being held under the theme Celebrating Golf Excellence. The proceeds from the awards dinner and the fundraising golf tournament will be channelled to Zimbabwe Golf Association Development Programmes and University of Zimbabwe Golf Scholarship Fund.
The evening is about celebration the successes of the Zimbabwean golfing industry over the past years. The evening will also be to honour outstanding champions and contributors to the sport, such as golf journalists, past greats, etc.
‘All the arrangements are in place for a great evening.’ Said Mr. Chigorimbo. ‘’Various prestigious golf awards will be presented in a ceremony which is set to become a fixture on the Zimbabwe golf’s diary,” he said.
